unicorn
The unicorn is a creature from fables, usually depicted as a white horse
with a spiraled horn protruding from its forehead. The unicorn is also a symbol of
virginity and in Christian iconography is sometimes used to represent the Virgin Mary.
Medieval and Renaissance tapestries often feature the unicorn.
Cryptozoologists have been alerted to sightings of the unicorn throughout the world, but especially in India, where it was once thought to be a native beast.
